Virginia Mae Torgerson

Virginia Mae Torgerson was born June 10, 1930 in Minnesota and passed away March 21, 2024.  She was raised in Portland, Oregon and moved to California in her early twenties.  She married her husband of 56 years, Rembert (Rem) Torgerson, in 1958.  The couple settled in Simi Valley, CA where she has resided since 1962. Virginia was devoted to raising her four children. In 1970 she went to work for the US Post Office where she was employed for 20 years. Upon retirement, she and Rem followed their dreams, enjoying their retreat at Lake Mead, AZ, RVing across the US, and enjoying several cruises abroad. Above all, she lived for her family and church.

Virginia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her children, Karen Bennis, Jack Torgerson, Colleen Woods and Frank Torgerson, her sister Mary Joan Becker, her grandchildren, Whitney Wilson, Caitlyn Jarabak, Amy Pierce, Jake Torgerson, Callie Torgerson, Emily Schultz, and Michael Woods, as well as great grandchildren, Wyatt Wilson, Brendan Jarabak, Jr., Bridget Jarabak, Sadie Woods and Lainey Pierce. Virginia was predeceased in death by her husband Rem, her parents Lawrence Sohler and Sylvia Sohler, and her brothers, Lawrence Sohler, Jr., Robert Sohler, Jerome Sohler, and James Sohler.
