Peggy Jane Sadler
April 19, 1937 – December 11, 2020
Peggy was born in Alabama in 1937 to Leychester and Eleanor (Clotfelter) Young and her family moved to California when she was in her early teens. She attended college at UC Santa Barbara where she majored in Music. There she met the love of her life, David Sadler, and they were married over 62 years when he passed in April 2020.
David and Peggy moved to Simi Valley in 1963, bought their first home, and became actively involved in the community. They joined the Simi Valley Presbyterian Church (now Stonebridge Community Church) where Peggy served as Administrative Assistant for 27 years. Peggy served on the committee for cityhood for Simi Valley. She was a founding member and past president of the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center Foundation. She served as a docent at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library since 1991.
Peggy was a musician throughout her lifetime. She sang in her church choir, directed children’s choir, and still served as director of handbell choir at Stonebridge Community Church. Peggy sang in the Simi Civic Chorus for 10 years and the Los Robles Master Chorale for 27 years. She was active with the Simi Valley High School Music Boosters in the 1970s.
Peggy’s enthusiasm for America showed through her active roles in Simi Valley Republican Women, Ventura County Republican Women, Ventura County Republican Central Committee, California Federation of Republican Women, and California Republican Party. She proudly served as a delegate and alternate delegate at four GOP National Conventions.
Peggy and David cruised to many countries following retirement and enjoyed many road trips in the U.S. But spending time with family, especially their five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, was her greatest joy. Peggy is survived by son Robert (Serena) Sadler, daughter Leslie (Doug) Klinchuch, grandson Matthew (Malinda) Klinchuch, granddaughter Amanda (Matthew) Thompson, grandsons Ian Sadler, Morgan Sadler and granddaughter Jade Sadler. Great grandchildren are Maddox and McKinley Klinchuch, and Gavin and Grayson Thompson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on May 15, 2021 in Simi Valley, California. Donations may be made in Peggy’s memory to either Stonebridge Community Church (
