SUNRISE Tuesday April 4,1939 on a blissful day in Chicago Illinois Mara Lidia (Lilly) Villegas Parks widow of Gilbert Parks, was the 4th child of 12, born to Manuel Villegas and Nellie Gonzalez. She lived her early childhood in Chicago before eventually moving to Los Angeles, California. Mara was faithful too her Heavenly Father through prayer and worship. Having strong ties to her catholic beliefs that carried her through life and into her transitioning.
> Describing Mara’s personality and character could be fun, and would create great conversation but all would agree that she had a heart of gold, wore her emotions on her sleeve and stood tall in any battle. Her thoughtfulness and generosity also extended to her home where she nurtured many. Mara enjoyed traveling, shopping, all things ART, getting her hair and nails done, pastries, her Novellas, and being waited on at her favorite Restaurants. But most of all spending time with her family. Her family was her life.

Mara(Lilly) leaves to cherish her memory; Daughter Shawne, son in law John, Grandchildren Richard, Courtney, Sara and great grandchildren Calysta and Colette along with her remaining sisters Delores, Margarita, Lila, Terry, Linda, and brothers Manuel, and Bernard, Along with all of her loving Family and friends.
