James (Jim) Richard Ward died on November 8, 2022 at the age of 76.
Jim and his twin sister were born May 7, 1946 in Whiston, Lancashire, England to Josephine and Ernest Ward. His siblings were an older sister Marie, his twin sister Jill and his brother Michael who was born thirteen months later.
Aughton was where he grew up. His first five years were spent living above a pub that his dad managed. They would look down on the men playing darts. He went to school by train to St. Ann's and St. Bede's. He was raised catholic and was an altar boy. The Army Air Corp was a group he spent a lot of time with as a teenager. He had a lot of great experiences with them including getting his glider license.
His jobs in England were working in a cable manufacturing company, a printing company where he was a union representative and in sales. He had two children, Christopher and Benjamin and they lived in Ormskirk. For fun he played darts and snooker.
In 1982 he moved to Simi Valley and lived there ever since. He worked in sales and as a medical courier and retired in 2012. April 23, 1994 was the day he and his wife Rhonda got married. They had twenty-eight happy years together. He enjoyed games, English tv shows, Jeopardy, movies, bingo, bunco, plays, concerts, cooking and traveling. He liked the Beatles and grew up near Liverpool. Jim was easy going and easy to get along with. He was a wonderful husband and father.
He is preceded in death by his parents Josephine and Ernest Ward and his sister Marie Ward. He is survived by his wife Rhonda Ward, sons Chris and Ben Ward and his sister Jill Boucher, all of Simi Valley, and his brother Michael Ward of England.
His memorial service is December 13 at 12:00 pm, at Simi Community Church at 2000 Royal Ave. Simi Valley.
