In Loving Memory of Dylan Page Jones

Born on May 31, 2007, in Burbank, California, Dylan Page Jones was a radiant spirit whose life, though brief, was filled to the brim with laughter, creativity, and determination. He left this world on August 13, 2024, after a medical emergency resulted in a tragic accident the night before that took him far too soon, leaving a void in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.

Dylan possessed an exuberance for life that was contagious, a goofball full of boundless energy who thrived on making others laugh. His repertoire of voice impersonations could light up any room, stirring waves of hysterical laughter among family and friends. Underneath this playful exterior lay a deeply sensitive, kind, and empathetic soul—truly a remarkable combination that drew everyone to him.

Dylan faced struggles that many never knew as he battled Epilepsy during his childhood years. Although he faced neurological challenges, he didn't let this determine his path in life or limit his ability to soar fearlessly into new everyday adventures.

Dylan was a bright student with a promising future. He attended Castlebay Lane Elementary and Sinaloa Middle School, and he was eagerly anticipating the dawn of his senior year at Royal High School. Dylan dreamed of attending the University of Oregon, with aspirations of becoming a chiropractor.

From a young age, the baseball diamond was Dylan's second home. He demonstrated a profound passion for the sport, skillfully showcasing his talents as a catcher for the Royal varsity baseball team. His journey began at age 4 at North Valley Youth Baseball in Granada Hills, before moving to Simi Youth Baseball, and continued through travel ball with the Goonies and Strike One Baseball Academy. One of his most cherished memories was the unforgettable experience of catching and hitting off a major league pitcher during an outing with his team following a tournament in Arizona. His athletic prowess extended beyond baseball, as he also grew up playing basketball, volleyball, football, and parkour.

Dylan earned the affectionate nickname “our little monkey” for his adventurous spirit and climbing abilities, which soared from climbing out of his crib before he even turned one. He never met an obstacle he didn't attempt to climb. Whether it was a tree, pole, onto a roof, up fences, on top of batting cages or boulders, he wanted to get to the top - literally.

In addition to his athletic prowess, Dylan was blessed with a creative spirit. He expressed himself through a self-developed artistic talent, often channeling his thoughts and feelings into drawings and unique creations. His knack for combining creativity with hands-on skills saw him working with tools, building and innovating. He loved to tinker and would often be found in the garage bringing his imagination to life.

A lover of nature, he found solace in the outdoors—be it camping trips beneath the stars, sunny days spent at the beach, or playing in the water. He carried a deep love for animals, whether it was his pets at home or any creature that would cross his path. He was even fascinated with the creepy, crawly critters, scaring his parents by holding scorpions and black widows. As a toddler and young child he would spend many summer days at the zoo fascinated by all the animals. He couldn't wait for the days he would spend at his Aunt and Uncle's house in Reno where he would ride and tend to their horses.

Dylan's nurturing side blossomed through working with young children. He loved babysitting and assisted in his mother's classroom, where he showcased his compassion and the love he had for inspiring others. In recent months, he stepped into the culinary world, taking his first job at Roundtable Pizza, which allowed him to merge his passion for cooking with his desire to serve others.

Just as deeply as he loved life, Dylan was also committed to helping others. He often put the needs of friends before his own, lending an ear to listen or a shoulder to cry on. He had made the noble decision to register as an organ and tissue donor, a choice reflecting maturity beyond his years. His legacy will not only live on in memory but also through the lives he has saved, a last act of generous heart that speaks volumes about the person he was. His selflessness reminds us that even in the face of tragedy, there is hope and healing.

Dylan is survived by his loving parents, Jason and Alison, who undoubtedly recognize the monumental loss of their extraordinary son. His sister, Mikaela, shares an irreplaceable bond with him, and he leaves behind the warm embrace of Grandma Judy, Grandma Dawn, Grandpa Casey, and many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, his girlfriend, and countless friends and teammates who will cherish his memory forever.

In a world that often feels large and daunting, Dylan’s light will shine on, illuminating the lives he touched with laughter, love, and inspiration. As we celebrate the life of Dylan Page Jones, the echoes of his joyous spirit, boundless energy, and heartfelt compassion will resonate profoundly within us all.
