Dan Sims

Sims, Dan A., Age 79 passed away on December 20, 2019. Dan was born June 16, 1940, in Albert Lea, Freeborn County, MN. Dan proudly served his country with the United States Marines and the United States Army, including active duty during the Vietnam Era. Dan was a guy who loved to work and had knowledge that even had the US Government bring him back to Vietnam after his military service as a private contractor. He is survived by his long-time partner of 31 years, Betty Jensen, her daughters Lucy Jensen and Marilyn Brinkworth. He is also survived by his daughters Laura Jean Sims, Dora (Sims) Salud and Cora Sims, as well as his granddaughter, Jade Salud. He is preceded in death by his father, Merle S. Sims Sr., mother Carrie L. (Mott) Sims, and his siblings, Jean Konetski, Duane L. Sims, and Merle S. Sims Jr., as well as his nephew Oralle Dan Sherburne and niece Linda (Sherburne) Stambaugh. Dan will be laid to rest at Los Angeles National Cemetery with military honors. Date and time have yet to be determined.
