Claudia Elder

Claudia G Elder died peacefully on March 6, 2015 at her home in Simi Valley.
Claudia was born April 2, 1936 in North Hollywood, the daughter of Earl L Garber and Blanche S Cameron. Claudia had been a long time resident of Simi Valley since 1964.
Claudia worked for many years in the Aerospace industry as an Inspector in Quality Control. Retiring from Rocketdyne/Boeing in 1992 Claudia began traveling throughout the United States with her husband James Elder in their one ton dually truck pulling a large 5th wheel trailer. Claudia loved to drive. She was one whom, loved to run across a path paved or not and off she would go to see where it led. Claudia loved to travel rather if it were in a car, truck or on a cruise ship.
Claudia enjoyed watching sports. The Dodgers were one of her favorites. She enjoyed eating Dodger dogs and peanuts. Claudia attended The Church at Rocky Peak where she found a comforting home and support from peers.
Her husband, James, preceded her in death in 2002. Claudia is survived by her brother John (Jack) Garber of Citra Florida. She leaves behind her Children, Douglas (Mittie) Ellis of Yukon Oklahoma, Robert Canfield of Sparks Nevada, Susan Canfield of Simi Valley. Linda (Frank) Rodriguez of Simi Valley Calif., and Patricia (Scott) Liefeld of Quartz Hill Calif. Step-Son Wesley (Nikki) Elder of Moorpark Calif. 9 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren, Nieces, and Nephews.
Claudia requested a private graveside burial and funeral at Oakwood Memorial Park in Chatsworth Ca. Officiated by Pastor Dave Mackerron. The family wished to thank all those who cared for her and supported her. The family has requested in lieu of flowers to make a donation to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
