Jean Kovarik

Mrs. Jean B. Kovarik (Peters) passed away in Simi Valley, California on April 23, 2021 at the age of 86.
Jean was born on December 31, 1934 in rural Dodge County, Nebraska to her parents, Hatten and Delsie Peters. She graduated from Schuyler High School and then moved to Omaha and worked briefly at Mutual of Omaha. She met and married Dudley Kovarik in 1954 and started a family. She raised three daughters in Omaha before moving to Cypress, California in 1974. They retired in Simi Valley, California in 2000. She was a loving mother, active grandmother, and steadfast friend. She is preceded in death by her husband Dudley Kovarik, her parents Hatten and Delsie Peters and her brother James Peters.
She is survived by daughters Carol Short (Rick Short) of Omaha, Nebraska , Kaye Micek (Gary Micek) of Irvine, California and Kristi Chamber (Ron Chambers) of Simi Valley, California; seven grandchildren, Jenny Barnes, Jessie Duros, Lauren Vargas, Derek Micek, Madison Guyette, Schuyler Chambers and Lincoln Chambers, eight great-grandchildren. Also survived by her brother Jay (Ann) Peters of North Bend, Nebraska and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial Mass at St. Peter Claver is scheduled for 10:00 am on May 3rd . In lieu of flowers please donate to Susan B Komen breast cancer awareness at komen.org.
