Don Casidsid

Don Ramil Casidsid was born to Galeo and Sol Casidsid in Juneau Alaska at 1:37pm on Thursday December 3rd, 1968. He would be the first of four brothers: Cy, Arniel and Laurel
He was a loving husband, patient father, serving son and guiding brother. Ramil passed away this November 15th and was preceded in death by his first wife Susanne, his father Galeo and his mother Sol. He leaves behind his daughter Korina Gale and his second wife Evelyn.
Ramil had and infectious smile and was always optimistic and encouraging, constantly trying to bring his positive energy to every room he walked into. He was blessed to grow up in the support of a large close-knit Filipino family. He loved sports and was an accomplished athlete having attained the Presidential Physical Fitness Award throughout junior high. He went undefeated in wrestling and played varsity basketball in high school to where he became team captain of both. Ramil was an accomplished martial artist, having joined the Universal Martial Arts kickboxing team with all his brothers and competed in combat with black belts.
After graduating from Juneau Douglas High School, he attended Antelope Valley College in Lancaster before attaining a bachelor’s degree in Recreation Administration from California State University Northridge.
His favorite color was blue turquois and he would often be quoted as saying, “Who authorized that?”
Some of the proudest moments of his life were marrying his first wife Susanne, the birth of Korina Gale, dancing with Mom on his wedding day, marrying Evelyn and having Dad attend his wedding. One of his proudest career accomplishments was when he was recognized as the top biller in recruitment and sales for P&E Consultants.
Some of his most memorable moments were the almost annual brothers walks he would take with Arniel, Laurel and Cy. He hiked avidly, sometimes on a weekly basis and enjoyed playing chess with his family.
He loved music and among his favorite songs were by Chicago, “You’re my Inspiration” and Don Henley, The Heart of the Matter”.
He began attending the Los Angeles Church of Christ in Lancaster California thirty years ago. He made the decision to become a disciple on April 21st, 1992 at the home of Jordan and Ruth Sugarman.
Since then he has remained steadfast and faithful.
Ramil loved God, loved people, and did his best to help others have a deeper relationship with God. He lived a purposeful life and passed away a good faithful servant.
